Information Technology Managers Academy XI
The Academy XI class developed an analysis of Lessons Learned that includes "what worked" and "what didn't work" for a number of projects conducted by state IT organizations. This analysis included a cross section of both IT and non-IT projects varying in size, complexity and strategic importance spread across a dozen state agencies. The issues addressed in the analysis include project management practices, vendor usage and relationship management, team development, and project sponsorship. The analysis offers ideas in these and several other management arenas, identifies common pitfalls that can be avoided, and also gives contact information, reference material, and many tools that may help state IT managers respond to their current and future business challenges.
