IT Partnership Concepts Needed for Agency Consolidation Effort
State Technology Update - May 14, 2009
In order to implement the objectives described in the Governor's IT Reorganization Proposal which took effect on May 10, 2009, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has directed Agency and Departmental Information Technology (IT) programs to undertake a consolidation planning process. The OCIO is inviting IT vendors to partner with the State to help.
To provide support for the Agencies and Departments as they undertake consolidation, the OCIO is soliciting help from IT companies who have expertise in specific areas of consolidation, including: portfolio management, project management, green IT, email, storage, networks, physical servers, and data centers.
As part of the agency consolidation effort, the OCIO will also host a series of vendor events aimed at strengthening the relationships between the vendor community and California IT decision makers. Event details will be announced soon.
