Memorandum - ITC Meetings
To: Interested Parties
From: Office of the State Chief Information Officer (OCIO)
Date: October 14, 2008
Subject: Information Technology Council Meetings
As the OCIO works with state agencies toward the implementation of the Governor’s goals to upgrade information technology systems, improve services and reduce overall costs in state government, we are changing the format of the quarterly Information Technology Council (ITC) meetings.
To maximize participation, facilitate meaningful discussion and keep departments and agencies updated with the most complete and current information, the meetings will now be exclusive to Agency Information Officers (AIOs) and departmental Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and restricted to state government staff only.
To accommodate those in the business community who have attended the ITC meetings in the past, the OCIO is developing a new forum for vendors and Information Technology (IT) staff to maintain open dialogue and interface in a time-efficient manner while preserving the highest possible standards for state IT-related procurement and services.
Chief Information Officer Teri Takai will also be hosting regular meetings with state IT staff who are interested in discussing technology-related issues.
Absent any travel-related budget concerns, we are encouraging AIOs and CIOs to attend the next meeting on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., held in the Department of Health Care Services auditorium located at 1500 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento.
Prior to the meeting, the ITC agenda will be posted on the OCIO’s website at http://www.cio.ca.gov/Government/Governance/10_17_08ITCMeetingAgenda.html.
